has become in recent years one of the bird watching places

Although the area is not very large, the route can be divided into two distinct segments: the area
south and west zone. Both routes start at the car park.

South Zone
This path runs along the southern part of the lagoon, parallel to the dune cord. It is done through
the wooden walkway that runs along the south bank of the lagoon, therefore offering no
difficulty and allows to observe several species of birds.

Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha (although sometimes called Praia da Senhora da Rocha) is a beach in the parish of Porches, in the municipality of Lagoa, region of the Algarve, in Portugal.

There is a small fishing community that received the popular name of Senhora da Rocha in tribute to the Virgin Mary devoted in an ancient hermitage besieged at the top of a jetty where there are also the remains of the Fort of Nossa Senhora da Rocha. This pier and beach are used as a refuge for fishermen’s boats.

Praia da Marinha is one of the most beautiful and emblematic beaches in Portugal, still considered as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe and one of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the World by the Michelin Guide,
having even been distinguished with the “Praia Dourada” award by the Ministry of the Environment, in 1998, due to its unique natural values. In addition to this honorable distinction, it also became the promotional image for the ‘Guia de Portugal’ distributed throughout the world.

The Capela dos Ossos de Alcantarilha is located on the south side of the 16th century Parish Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in the historic center of the beautiful parish of Alcantarilha, in the heart of the Algarve.

The Capela dos Ossos also dates back to the 16th century, inserted in the same stylistic line as other chapels of the kind existing in the country, as in Évora, Faro and Lagos.
Its interior is practically all covered and ornamented with more than 1500 human bones, with the exception of the sculpture work of the figure of Christ Crucified dating from the 16th century.
