This half-day day tour will introduce you to the fascinating history of Silves and its citrus cultivation, immersed in rural Algarve.
We start the tour in the morning at pick up point at Silves municipal market. We will then pick up the car and move to the final location, an organic orange farm where a passionate farmer will describe the different varieties of citrus and production techniques, as well as various tips from irrigation to collection. You will pick the fruit yourself and taste a fresh orange juice inside the farmer’s house, kindly opening its door for an amazing traditional lunch. After picking, we will prepare a delicious orange jams with the farmer for you to take away and enjoy for next days you are going to spend in Algarve!

We visit the market and take some fruit and vegetables with us for our lunch at the farm
You will meet a passionate farming couple in their family home dating back to the early 1900s, to Grandma Gloria’s time. The house has been wisely recuperated keeping the charm of a typical Algarvian country house. Geese and ducks happily caw around the pond and welcome you!
We will pick ourselves oranges at the farm and then prepare an amazing orange jams in the farmer’s house for you to take away.
Everyone to the table! Expect traditional recipes, fresh products from the vegetable garden and typical Algarvian cakes; every dish is cooked and served with lots of love!Vegan and Vegetarian are welcome!
