The beach is flanked by cliffs, but of particular interest is the cliff to the west where the Fort and the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Rocha are located.
Also in this cliff is a tunnel dug in the rock, which connects the Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha with Praia Nova
