A headland in south westernmost point of Portugal and of mainland Europe.

Stop At: Fortaleza de Sagres, 8650-360, Sagres Portugal
The 16th century bulwark-like fortress was severely damaged during the Great Earthquake of 1755. It was restored in the mid 20th century, but there is still a 16th-century turret present. After passing through the thick tunnel entrance, one sees a giant pebble compass rose (rosa dos ventos) of 43 m diameter.

See the cosy little village of Luz, a town known for its fishing activity and still using old techniques. Also, see the jaw dropping views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Stop At: Ponta da Piedade Lighthouse, Lagos Portugal
Consisting of yellow-golden cliff like rocks up to 20 meters high, they are one of the most famous touristic attractions of Portugal. Several grottos in Ponta da Piedade can be visited by boat. The location also contains a lighthouse, dating back to 1913.

Have a relaxing lunch in the heart of Lagos. Afterwards, go for a walking tour with your Cool guide and explore the old city with its medieval walls that transport us to other times, where some of the first navigators departed from.
End this day with a boat tour along the breathtaking coastline around Lagos and Ponta da Piedade (this is an extra 20€ – to be paid to the guide in the day of the tour).
