Canico Trip Overview
If you are a nature and plant-lover, the Orchid Garden is a place not to be missed. This is not a common garden, as the plants are in the most natural environment possible. In this space, you will find everything from unique plants to orchids of the most varied sizes and species. In total, there are more than 50 thousand plants.
The family responsible for this garden — the Pregetter family — is of Austrian origin, from the days of the monarchy and the emperors. This family, currently in its fourth generation, is dedicated to research and to the creation of new plant species. Creating this garden in Madeira, a natural space that gently welcomes orchids and other varieties of exotic plants from all continents, was the fulfilment of a dream of this family. Thanks to all the lab work, all year long there are plants in bloom!

Itinerary
Pregetter’s Orchid Garden is open since 1991 and is located 200 meters below the Botanical Gardens. Covered garden. In our miniature jungle you can admire a wide variety of orchids, as well as other plants.
