Believed to be the original landing point of portuguese discoverer João Gonçalvez Zarco, this parish name is a derivation for “seals” (Lobos Marinhos). Famously known for it’s beautifull fishing bay and a place where Churchill once visited and made one of his paintings.

The highest skywalk cliff in Europe, made of transparent glass providing stunning views to its visitors. This diamond-shaped sea-cliff is at 589 meters above sea level. This location also provides amazing views over Câmara de Lobos and Funchal.

Located along the southern coast, this parish gained its name due to its river, which translates to “angry river”. A scenic parish encompassed by mountains and turned to the sea is a place not to miss.

North of Ribeira Brava, the road goes through Serra d’Água where theisland’s first water power station was built, arriving at the top of the valley offering incredible views of both north and south coast.

This parish, part of the municipality of Porto Moniz got its name from the abundance of pebbles on the beach. Offering staggering views from the sea level towards the cliffs and also famously known for the Bride’s Veil waterfall (Véu da Noiva).
