Day 1: ARRIVAL PORTO

Arrive at the Porto International Airport and pick up of your car hire and your travel instruction and documents. Have the rest of the day at leisure to know Oporto enchanting city and designated an UNESCO World Heritage site for its historic buildings and outstanding monuments, highlights of Portugal’s second largest city. Overnight in Porto on half-board basis. Accommodation: Hotel Vila Gale Porto Standard 4* or similar.

Day 2: PORTO

After breakfast at the hotel, get know the marvellous city or drive to the closet interesting localities. We suggest to visit San Fracisco Church, the best baroque example in the north, the Stock Exchange Palace with its famous Moorish Hall or one of the famous Port Wine Cellar with wine tasting. All city centre such as Santa Catarina street, the best pedestrian street for shopping, Café Majestic, Sao Bento Train Station. Overnight in Porto on a bed-and-breakfast basis. Day 3: PORTO – LISBON

Early in the morning after breakfast you drive to Lisbon. We suggest to visit before Fátima one of the most important centres of pilgrimage. Batalha – visit the beautiful Monastery, classified of World Interest by UNESCO, its architecture is in flamboyant gothic with a mixing of the manueline style. Alcobaça visit one of the most beautiful Cistercian Abbey, which stands in the heart of the small town, also known for its blue pottery. Óbidos – a medieval village surrounded by walls and kept in its original style. Mafra – visit of the majestic Convent – famous for its mixture of styles and for the so well combined marble colours. Overnight in Lisbon on half-board basis. Accommodation: Hotel Sana Malhoa Standard 4* or similar.

Day 4: LISBON

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel before off to discover and enjoy Lisbon, is Europe’s second-oldest capital (after Athens), once home to the world’s greatest explorers. It is one of the world’s great historical cities, with characteristic and surprising sights, cultural treasures, and a beautiful setting that make it a paradise for walkers and photographers. We recommend to visit: Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, the Discoveries Monument, São Jorge Castle and the famous quarters of Alfama and Bairro Alto, Museu dos Azulejos e Museu dos Coches or drive to closest localities as Sintra and its old city centre and its Royal Palace or Cabo da Roca, the most western point in Europe, the cosmopolitan villages and pleasant seaside resorts of Cascais and Estoril. Day 5: LISBON – LAGOS

Have breakfast at the hotel, and drive to Lagos in Algarve. On the way, on the way, you can either pass by Évora – considered “World Patrimony” by UNESCO in 1986. It is partially enclosed by medieval walls and has a Roman temple and many monuments from various historical periods. We recommend also a stop in Beja – Beja’s rich history has been preserved in its architecture and can still be glimpsed in the narrow tangle of cobbled streets in the historic centre. Day 6: LAGOS

Breakfast at hotel. These days are to enjoy the Algarve: Situated on the extreme South of Portugal, this part of the territory was the last to be conquered from the Moors by the Portuguese King Dom Afonso III, in 1292. Day 7: LAGOS

Traces of Moorish presence are still seen in its unique terraces, chimneys and whitewashed houses. You can either relax and enjoy your hotel or just take some time to enjoy one of the beaches nearby. However there any interesting places/localities that we recommend the visit of: Lagos / Sagres / Cabo S.Vicente / Silves / Ferragudo. Overnight in Lagos on bed-and-breakfast basis.
