We will get together in front El Corte Inglès main facade, (São Sebastião subway blue line station), where we start a 20-minute walk along some of the most impressive Manor Houses of early 20th century and passing some significative public buildings of upper Campolide neighbourhood to arrive at the Aqueduct entrance.

Stop At: Aqueduto das Aguas Livres, Calcada da Quintinha 6, Lisbon 1070-225 Portugal
While learning about the history and the stories behind the impressive Águas Livres Aqueduct, we enjoy the breath-taking views from its pathways, overlooking Alcântara valley.

Stop At: Mae de Agua Lisbon Aqueduct and Water Museum, Praca das Amoreiras 10, Lisbon 1250-020 Portugal
Leaving the aqueduct behind we follow the water path walking through the ancient industrial neighbourhood of Campolide, catching a sneak peek into some of its “Vilas”.
The next stop will be at the “Mãe d’Água”, also known as the Water Cathedral, a huge baroque and neoclassical water cistern, a demonstration of the importance of freshwater to the 18th century Lisbon society.

Inside the “Mãe d’Água”, we find our way down to the underground galleries carrying the fresh water to Lisbon fountains. A fascinating underground adventure beneath the crowded Lisbon streets of the historic Príncipe Real neighbourhood.
