Itinerary

Stop At: Park and National Palace of Pena, Estrada da Pena, Sintra 2710-609 Portugal
Upon arrival, we’ll explore and hike on the Romantic Pena Park that surrounds the Palace. It offers exotic plant species, and also the best views of Lisbon region. We’ll then admire the mix of architectural styles (Moorish, Manueline and Gothic) of Pena Palace exterior and talk about its references to the most important periods of Portuguese History. We will explore its terraces, the interior of a XVI century chapel, do the loop around the palace, but we will not visit the interior of Pena Palace, avoiding long lines that no one can skip and saving time for the next attraction Quinta da Regaleira.

The lunch time will be at Sintra Historical centre and it will be free time. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the narrow streets of this picturesque town. After lunch I will invite you to eat the local pastry, Travesseiro.

Stop At: Quinta da Regaleira, Rua Barbosa do Bocage, Sintra 2710-567 Portugal
We’ll then head into Quinta da Regaleira, a place full of symbols which refers to Hermeticism, Alchemy, Freemasonry and more. We’ll explore fountains, grottos, initiation well and the palace.

The “cherry on top” of this day trip, is the visit to the westernmost point of Continental Europe, Cabo da Roca. You´ll enjoy free time at this edge of Continental Europe.
