Itinerary
Day 1: Olive oil Press in Galegos, Castelo de Vide, Portagem, Meada Menhir
Stop At: Castelo de Vide, Castelo de Vide, Portalegre District, Alentejo
Departing Lisbon our ride takes approx. 3h30 minutes until the area where we may start visiting an olive oil press that is also a museum. Then a lunch break at Portagem where there is a medieval bridge over a tributary of Tejo river, the Sever. Several restaurants, by the side of the river offer a diversity of local flavors of the regional cuisine. After lunch (not included) we shall do a walking visit of Castelo de Vide, with the castle, Synagogue, the Village Fountain and viewpoint. Before checking in our Hotel we shall visit the tallest menhir of Iberia, Meada, a megalithic site.

Day 2: Medieval path, Walled town of Marão, Alentejo cuisine, Ride on Rails
Stop At: Marvao, Marvao, Portalegre District, Alentejo
After breakfast our hosts at Quinta da Lavanda will show us the farm and the process of making lavender oil and taste olive oil that is also produced in the farm. In this morning we plan a 3.30 mnts walk between Castelo de Vide and Marvão, on an ancient path that has been used since roman times. Once in Marvão we should have lunch at this magnificent walled town and some time to explore around. Later in this day we may head to a local estate where we will attend a cooking class accompanied by the local wines. It will be followed by dinner. Alternatively we may include a 2 hour ride on rails, an exciting ride where trains passed before on route to Madrid.

Day 3: Ammaia Roman site
Stop At: Cidade Romana de Ammaia, Estrada da Calcadinha, Marvao 7330 Portugal
After Check out we visit of Amaia roman site. Drive through the winding roads of Serra de São Mamede with great views and return pleasantly to Lisbon through the fabulous landscapes of Alentejo.
