We’ll start the tour visiting Alfama, the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon.The Phoenicians, the Romans, the Visigoths, the Moors were some of the civilizations who lived around here and have left their influence until Lisbon was conquered by Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal in 1147.
The charming narrow streets, the famous “azulejos” on the walls, the clothes hanging on the balconies, the old fashion trams, the many steps up and down, the delicious local food, the friendly locals and the soul of the Portuguese culture, Fado.
Later, we’ll visit the areas called Baixa and Chiado, the romantic neighborhoods in Lisbon that have been the meeting point of famous artists, writers, poets and politicians since the XVIII century. They are still considered the heart of the city with its imposing buildings, historical monuments and the most cosmopolitan areas.
