Stop At: Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei, Praceta do Cristo Rei 27A Não é localizado em Lisboa e sim em Almada, Almada 2800-058 Portugal
Inspiring for some, symbol of the dictatorship and of obscurantism for others, the monument to Christ leaves no one indifferent. The 28 meter-high (90ft) image of Christ stands on a 75 meter-tall pedestal (246ft), and an elevator takes visitors up to the feet of the statue, with the 25 de Abril Bridge standing right below. From the statue or from the terrace across the monument there’s a beautiful panoramic view of practically the entire city of Lisbon.

Visit & Wine Tasting + Visit to the Palace- visit a prestigious winery and at the end enjoy a tasting of wines, white, red and Moscatel de Setúbal which is originally from the eastern Mediterranean, it was introduced into the national territory during the period of the Iberian invasions by the Roman Empire. As the variety with the highest concentration of aromatic compounds, its identification in blind tasting is easy and intuitive. However, if not properly tamed, it can be too enthusiastic and excessive in table wines. It is often described as a female grape variety, wandering aromatically among the notes of raisins, lemon, litchi, pear and linden. In the generous wines, whenever it can preserve the acidity, it provides memorable wines, including “Moscatel de Setúbal”, with notes of orange peel, honey, spices, iodine, orange blossom and acacia.
Note: Only the visit to the Palace will not be made on Sundays and holidays because it is closed.

A little over half an hour from Lisbon, Vila de Azeitão belongs to the Setúbal district, glued to the Arrábida mountain range, and is well known for hosting big names in Azeitão’s wine production, cheese and sweet pies. Three things that undoubtedly become three strong reasons for visiting this beautiful village.
