Stop At: Boca do Inferno, Northern section of Cascais, Cascais 2750-642 Portugal

One of the most famous visit points of Cascais is Boca do Inferno, a unique formation in the rocks by the ocean. It is believed that formerly this place was a cave that with time and the force of the sea eventually gave way and gave rise to the scenery as it is known today. Today Boca do Inferno is an open pit with a kind of arch through which sea water enters. On days of rough seas you can hear the sound of water striking the rocks, a noise so unique that it is analogous to the name of the place. Upon reaching Boca do Inferno it is possible to contemplate the beauty of the place from above, however there is also a path that leads to the other side of the “arch” of the cavity, through which the water enters. This place is already very close to the water and you can enjoy the view of the entire rocky coast.
