Stop At: Obidos Village, Obidos Portugal
This beautiful medieval village is a fine example of a traditional, Portuguese walled town. There is lots to see here, starting at the Porta de Vila, the main gateway into the town. Through a bustling street, lined with shops selling crafts and gift items, is the main street of Obidos. It leads to the Igreja de Santa Maria and Praca de Santa Maria, a beautiful religious building and the main church of Obidos is positioned in a quaint, picturesque square before leaving on up the hill to the castle.

Stop At: Monastery of Alcobaca, Praca 25 de Abril, Alcobaca 2460-018 Portugal
Gothic, impressive and spellbinding monastery. This Roman Catholic monastic complex was founded in the 12th century by King Alfonso. The monastery was one of Europe’s most important monasteries during the monastic age and a centre of religious study and worship for around 1,000 monks.

Stop At: Nazare, Nazare, Leiria District, Central Portugal
Once a productive fishing town, Nazare is full of cobbled streets and quaint buildings. You may still see some fishing traditions, such as the wives of the fisherman wearing traditional dress. Travel on up the Funicular, a century-old mode of public transport connecting the centre of Nazare to the village Sitio, on top of the hill. As you can imagine the views are amazing. Check out the Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Nazare, a beautiful church with a famous wooden carving of the black Madonna breastfeeding the baby Jesus. Nearby is the Forte de Sao Miguel, where you will find the famous lighthouse, pictured in all the photos of Nazare´s big wave surfing with a cool surf museum inside the fort.
