In Largo do Carmo and its Covent are among the most iconic landmarks in Lisbon.
It was at Largo do Carmo that some of the most important events of the Carnation Revoltuion (25th of April 1974) took place.
The convents wall stand today as reminder of the Great Lisbon earthquake of 1755.
