Lisbon Trip Overview
In this private half day road trip, I will share with you my favorite medieval village in Portugal. Also known for being the official “House of the Portuguese Queens” during almost 800 years, the romantic Óbidos is one of the most famous Portuguese pearls.
There, we’ll do a walking tour along the cobbled streets and houses draped in bright bougainville that lead up to a 13th-century castle, all tightly wrapped in medieval walls. Óbidos is also a City of Literature, one of only 28 in the world bestowed with the title by Unesco. There you’ll find peculiar book shops, handcraft tiny shops, and a yummy bakery, cooking family recipes with more than 130 years old. And we can not escape the Ginja (typical cherry liquor) tasting in a chocolate cup.
