Tower of Belém and Monument of the Discoveries. The Belem Tower was strategically built on the north bank of the Tagus River between 1514 and 1520, to defend the city of Lisbon, and is one of the jewels of the architecture of the reign of D. Manuel I. The pattern of the Discoveries was first erected in 1941 for the exhibition of the Portuguese world.

Viewpoint of Santa Luzia one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the city, with a superb view to Alfama and the river Tagus. One of the biggest attractions of the Baixa Pombalina, and National Monument since 2002, the Elevador de Santa Justa was inaugurated in 1902. Also known as Elevador do Carmo, where we can enjoy a sensational view to Lisbon, in a route between Rua do Ouro and Largo do Carmo.

The Baixa Pombalina or Lisbon Pombalina for having been built by order of the Marquis of Pombal, following the earthquake of 1755, covering an area of about 25.5 hectares. It is located between the Terreiro do Paço, near the Tagus River.
