For those who like nature at its purest state, Ribeiro do Cavalo is an excellent alternative to the more commercial beaches of Lisbon and Setúbal.
Located north of the imposing Promontory of Nazaré, better known as “Sítio”, Praia do Norte has no surveillance and has a rough and somewhat wild environment, with dunes that preserve the original vegetation. The sea, rough and dangerous to swim or bathe in, is much appreciated by surfers who find spectacular waves here.
