Madeira Trip Overview
This medium level 12km trail begins at the third highest peak in the island: Pico do Areeiro.
Mostly done by stone steps excavated in the rock we’ll be starting at Ninho da Manta viewpoint, where you can see the hydrographic basin of Poiso and Fajã da Nogueira.
We’ll have a steep climb around the 2nd highest peak, Pico das Torres and We’ll pass through Pico Ruivo’s shelter, the highest peak.
From here we have a 360 degrees view over the central mountain massif. The returning to Pico is done by some tunnels excavated in the rock.
