Cais de Gaia is a tourist area with terraces, restaurants and bars, located on the left bank of the Douro River, in Vila Nova de Gaia, opposite the historic area of Porto, a UNESCO world heritage site, in Portugal.
The building is on the opposite side of the Douro River from Porto, overlooking the Luís I Bridge and the Historic Center of Porto. The Monastery belonged to the Order of Saint Augustine and its construction began in 1538 and continued over the following centuries, in several stages of construction that significantly altered the initial design. The Ponte Infante Dom Henrique, also known as Ponte do Infante, is a road bridge that connects Vila Nova de Gaia to Porto, over the Douro River, in Portugal. Named in honor of Infante D. Henrique, born in Porto, it is the newest bridge that connects Porto and Gaia.
The bridge was named in honor of the wife of King D. Luís I, Queen D. Maria Pia de Saboia.
The D. Maria Pia Bridge is a railway infrastructure, which carried the Northern Line over the Douro River, between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, in the North of Portugal. Palácio do Freixo is located in the parish of Campanhã, city, municipality and district of Porto, in Portugal. It is one of the most representative examples of civil baroque in the country. The Freixo Palace has been classified as a National Monument since 1910.
Ponte do Freixo is a road bridge that connects Vila Nova de Gaia to Porto, over the Douro River, in Portugal. Of the bridges that connect Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, Ponte do Freixo is the one furthest upstream of the Douro River.
