Visit: Castelo dos Mouros, Estrada da Pena Parque de Monserrate, Sintra 2710-609 Portugal
The Moorish Castle, perched on one of the Sintra Hills’ summits, is a fortification built during the Moorish occupation of the Iberian Peninsula in the 10th century.
Its well-known walls, made up of granite slabs that connect rocks and cliffs, snake across the hills.
Its parapet walk offers breathtaking views of the town, the Palace of Pena, and the greens of the hills in the distance, which contrast with the blues of the Atlantic Ocean.
