Vila, Porto Moniz Trip Overview
This tour begins in Porto Moniz at 09:00 a.m, proceeding to a viewpoint with a superb view to the village of Porto Moniz, famous for its natural pools.
We start offroad towards Levada Ribeira da Janela. This is an excellent levada that has its beginning in Lamaceiros, Porto Moniz. Along its 5 km, the levada takes you to the interior of this unique valley of Ribeira da Janela.
Along the way there are several tunnels that make this a different experience. The ground inside the tunnel can be slippery and there can be some water falling from the rocks.
After finishing Levada Ribeira da Janela, we go back to Lamaceiros and stop in a typical Madeira Restaurant for lunch (foods and drinks not included)
In the afternoon, we go to Calhau das Achadas viewpoint.
Then we go to Capela da Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte – Cabo.
The next stop is in Ponta de Pargo Light House.
We return to Fonte do Bispo in off road, returning after to your hotel.

The natural pools of Porto Moniz are the ex-libris of the municipality, which is a major tourist attraction. This holiday complex consists of pools formed from volcanic rocks with very singular shapes, where the sea comes in naturally always providing fresh and clear waters.
In Porto Moniz, we can visit the Living Science Centre and Madeira Aquarium.

This viewpoint provides a beautiful view over the village of Porto Moniz and of its natural swimming pools, as well as the Mole Islet.

Enjoy the fantastic scenery that arises, with its unique flora and fauna of Madeira Island.
At the end you reach Ribeira da Janela. The fantastic view is dominated by large rocks that paint the landscape with a soft and pleasant shade of gray. Among the rocks flows the pure and crystal water, forming several ponds here and there.

The Rabaçal viewpoint, located in Pico da Urze, on the upland of Paul da Serra, offers memorable landscapes with a vast area of trees. From this point you can see the valley of Rabaçal, one of the most beautiful in Madeira, surrounded by the luxuriant vegetation of Laurissilva forest, a UNESCO world natural heritage site.
Rabaçal is part of the Madeira Natural Park as a quiet rest area, and is part of the Natura 2000 Network.

The Ponta do Pargo Lighthouse viewpoint, located in Ponta Vigia, on the island’s westernmost cape, rises to an elevation of 312 m, offering stunning views of the immense ocean and the rugged landscape, extending from the Ponta do Pargo lighthouse to Achadas da Cruz.

This is a short walk to the Garganta Funda waterfall at Ponta do Pargo. There are a lot of great lookouts on the west side of the island, and this is one of the best. See for yourself and enjoy the waterfall, rugged cliffs and ocean view at the end of this stroll.

The viewpoint near the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte in Cabo is one of the least known in Madeira.
From the exposed viewing platform on the headland you can gaze along the rugged western coastline. The starkness of the view is breathtaking and the fact that there will most likely be no other people in sight will add to the atmosphere of beautiful isolation.
The walk to the headland is short in itself, but you can incorporate it into various options of the nearby levada walk. Or, maybe, you just want to stop off at the point on your journey to Port Moniz? Either way, try to make sure that you don’t miss this little known miradouro, the views will not disappoint.
